
In 2010 the UK gave £50 million to Vietnam in foreign aid out of our taxes.
In the same year the Church of England took nearly £8 million in profits from their investments in residential developments in Vietnam and avoided paying taxes on it.
The money went towards Church of England pensions and paying staff salaries, including a top salary of £300,000 + benefits. The head of the Church of England and Church Commissioners is Rowan Williams.
Is that what Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams means when he says that he supports a Robin Hood tax? Does that make the Williams 'Friar Tax'?
Meanwhile Easter celebrations were banned in Vietnam this year.
